Rethinking Employee Mobility: AdhexPharma’s Initiatives
by Roxane Viguier on May 22, 2025 9:37:23 AM
At AdhexPharma, health isn't just about medicines: it's also about how we get around. The company is focusing on soft mobility to reduce its carbon footprint and improve its employees' quality of life. Here’s a look at the different actions in place and future projects. From cycling incentives to electric vehicle infrastructure and public transport partnerships, here’s how AdhexPharma is driving change.
Making Cycling a Practical Choice
AdhexPharma is implementing several concrete actions to make cycling a practical and accessible alternative for its employees. Its internal bike leasing program, available to all staff, includes a 70% contribution from the company. In return, employees make a moral commitment to complete the majority of their home-to-work journeys by bike. This initiative aims to promote more sustainable mobility. Already, 10% of employees have chosen to take advantage of the program, reflecting a growing commitment to soft mobility within the company.
For those who do cycle regularly, AdhexPharma offers an incentive: employees who use a bike for at least 75% of their monthly commute can earn a “green mobility bonus.” This initiative aims to encourage more people to choose cycling as part of their daily routine.
In addition, on the Chenôve site, six bicycles are distributed across the various buildings to facilitate fast and sustainable internal travel. This initiative allows employees to move more efficiently around the site while contributing to the reduction of the site's carbon footprint. It helps improve the flow and safety of daily movements and encourages a greener, more practical mode of mobility.
Finally, a cargo bike will soon be added to the system. It will be used by staff for both internal and external trips. Externally, it will be used in particular to pick up small equipment from local suppliers or to handle the cleaning of some of our work clothing. Internally, it will replace the combustion vehicle currently used to transport tools, materials, archives, or small inventory between our different buildings, thus providing a low environmental impact logistics solution.
Encouraging Public Transport
AdhexPharma is committed to making public transport a convenient and affordable option for employees. Through a new partnership with Divia, the public transport network in Dijon, staff can access exclusive offers, such as 25% off the first month of Illico subscriptions. To further encourage employees to use these services, Divia representatives visited the Chenôve site to introduce the benefits of public transport, provide detailed information about available services, and offer guidance on how to make the most of these new opportunities. In addition to these discounts, employees can receive support with subscriptions and learn more about long-term bike rentals and other services, making it easier to integrate sustainable transport into their daily routines.
By 2030, a new tramline is expected to directly connect the AdhexPharma site to downtown Dijon. This project, led by the Dijon Metropolis, aligns perfectly with our values and represents a significant improvement in site accessibility. It will provide a sustainable and practical transport alternative, helping to reduce reliance on individual cars and offering current and future employees an additional solution for more eco-friendly commuting.
Supporting Electric Mobility
As part of its overall approach to energy transition, AdhexPharma is also investing in electric mobility. Two buildings are equipped with electric charging stations compatible with cars, bikes, and electric scooters. The installation of these charging stations aims to facilitate the adoption of clean vehicles by employees.
Access to the charging stations is available to all employees upon request. This service supports the growing number of employees who choose electric transportation methods and reflects AdhexPharma's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint at all levels.
Rethinking Business Travel
At AdhexPharma, rethinking mobility also means transforming the way business trips are planned and carried out. Through its internal travel charter, the company promotes responsible practices aimed at limiting the environmental impact of professional travel.
Employees are strongly encouraged to prioritize trains over planes, especially for domestic trips or short journeys within Europe. Aware that, on average, a train journey emits around 14 g of CO₂ per kilometer per passenger, compared to 285 g per kilometer for a medium-haul flight, this change in habits helps significantly reduce CO₂ emissions while reinforcing a company culture focused on sustainability and moderation.
With these initiatives, AdhexPharma is actively working to minimize its environmental footprint as much as possible, starting with business travel.
Why It Matters
Transportation accounts for nearly 30% of greenhouse gas emissions in France, with 94% of these emissions coming from road transport.
Workplace commuting is a major contributor, and AdhexPharma is taking steps to be part of the solution, actively reducing the carbon footprint associated with daily commutes.
From individual bikes to collective transit strategies, AdhexPharma is shifting gears toward a more sustainable future. With more projects on the horizon, this mobility transition is just getting started.
So, what’s the first step you’ll take tomorrow to reduce the environmental impact of your daily commute? Whether it’s opting for a bike over a car or exploring carpooling options, every small change counts.
